Subj: [vegnetaustin] Help for Potbellied Pigs at Austin Animal Center needed

Hi everyone,
You may know that I work at the city animal shelter-primarily finding placement for animals with outside rescue groups, shelters, etc. It's also my responsibility to find placement for non dog cat animals.
Right now the city shelter (AUSTIN ANIMAL CENTER) has 2 potbellied pigs. And have not been able to find new homes for them. They really need to get out of the shelter. It's been 2 weeks and I've not had any luck finding placement.
If you know of a safe & humane placement for pigs, ie: where they will be treated humanely as pets and NOT EATEN, please contact me at the shelter @
I've copied that email above as well.
One is an adult, ~ 3 years old owner released. Very much a pet and social to people. knows tricks and is a bit thin. her name is Xena
The other is a baby, about 8 weeks old, still a little unsocial, found as a stray animal. I named her Prissy.
Both have videos on you tube.

Thanks very much!!!

OH, man! I wish I wasn't in a third floor apartment! I've always wanted pig companions happy They are just such smart, amazing animals!

Best of luck with that! I really wish I was at the right place in my life where I could provide the space and care for them.
