Just went to whole foods to get a bite to eat and I was a little bothered. I was about to scoop some tofu in my bowl when i noticed chunks of turkey mixed in. Well right next to the tofu is a big vat of shredded turkey and some got mixed in with the tofu. I know it was probably an accident that it fell in but I was pretty ticked at how insensitive this placement seemed to us vegans. Then I thought that someone must have done it on purpose because of the way it was mixed in all together! Now I got ticked. I had also done some shopping at Central Market off of Lamar and Westgate  and was about to grab some vegan tamales and saw that someone had put a big bloody steak right on top of the vegan food. I would have thought this an accident also but I have seen bloody meat stuff placed there several times. Just some Jerk with a sick sense of humor but the gall of this a-hole to do this is something else. sorry just venting.

Where I work, we have a buffet catered every Friday. Sometimes they bring in vegan food, but it's served next to meat dishes. Invariably, someone will want to continue using the same scooping spoon they just used for meat to scoop up some vegan food. They just haven't thought about the issue at all, and it's never occurred to them that someone might have a problem with that. They actually need to be told. Oy!

Sometimes people are just impatient. Like I've seen it where the guy who's second in line is waiting for the guy in front of him to get done scooping. Instead of waiting, he just uses the spoon of one of the other dishes to scoop from the same dish that the first guy is scooping from at the same time.

And then there are those occasions I walk into the buffet, and there are two spoons in my one vegan dish and no spoon in the adjacent non-vegan dish. Gah!

You may be right that someone intentionally mixed the meat in with the tofu. If so, they're total a-holes. But I think it can happen even without intent. It's just par for the course when eating at a buffet. People just haven't been taught growing up not to do this.

I hear you Steve and I can understand the mistake on some peoples part but still others like the bloody steak guy(or gal) are just real jerk offs.
Accident okay, intentional, hmmmm.... not too much.

Oh yea Ross we let someone know, but by the time we left the food was still there. Maybe too busy but I'm sure they will move it eventually. or at least I hope they do because I liked the tofu, it was good.  =(

And by the way, most buffets tend to keep the meat and veggie dishes separate. I've often wondered if it was because of the issue of vegans and vegetarians being annoyed. And the answer is: no. They keep the meat items on one half of the buffet and the veggie items on the other half simply because they want to keep the warm dishes together. Underneath or over the warm dishes are heating elements. So they're just trying to keep hot items hot and cold items cold. They can't let meat dishes go below a certain temperature, or the health inspector would shut them down, I believe. And yet it is getting more popular to have specific vegetarian sections in buffets nowadays.

Creepy experience. Switching to be a vegan seems a great feeling that I have right now. Being a healthy by eating veggies is really an effective way to be healthy as I wanted since then. I love to eat raw foods and it really works well for me. I love this feeling that I have right when I finally start to push myself on a great discipline. It wouldn't take much of my personal loan but a great discipline is a good credit though.

Well that's weird, we haven't seen spam in a post that's actually kind of related to a thread before...
