The Alamo Drafthouse Cinema is Austin's only independently owned and operated movie theater. We serve a full menu of dinner and drinks to your seat while you watch the movie. The theater is laid out like a traditional movie theater, except every other row of seats has been replaced with a long narrow table for your food and drinks. Those who have never been to the Alamo may worry about disruptions during the movie, but we have devised an ordering system that minimizes interaction during the film, allowing you to order, eat and enjoy the movie with minimal distraction. We recommend arriving early; seating begins 45 minutes before the show and there is always pre-movie entertainment on the screen while you wait for the movie. We have waiters that serve you at your seat; orders before the movie begins are taken in the traditional way. Once the movie starts if you need anything at all, there is paper and pencils at the table, write down what you need on the paper, stand the paper up on the card holder attached to the table. This acts as a flag, your waiter will only come by if he sees the card, otherwise he will stay out of your way so you can enjoy the film.

There are querky movie nights like "Weird wednesdays" sponsored by Austin's own I Luv Video, quote-a-longs (where they play a popular movie, and patrons are incouraged to shout out movie quotes along with the movie), TV shows on the bigscreen (thursdays), and cheesy horror flicks on Tuesday. They also host other cool events like the Air guitar championships, etc. Check out the calendar on the website for more info and viewing times.

General Admission to the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema is $8.50. Students, children (6-11) and seniors (60+) are $6.50 all day, all shows before 6PM are also $6.50. No checks accepted. All patrons must be 18 years or older or be accompanied by a parent. Children under 6 are not admitted at any time.

VEGAN MENU ITEMS: French fries, Hummus, Constant Gardner, Any salad (sub tofu) with dressing specified. Artichoke Heart pizza without cheese. Greek pizza without cheese. Chips and salsa.  Pop corn, nachos without cheese. Falafell without tzatiki sauce.  I would also add that the fries are most likely cooked in the same oil as everything else, and they probably use the same slicer for all the pizzas. just FYI.
