This place isnt vegan but it is vegan freindly =), the staff is friendly and knows what vegan means lol they have a great Ginger Tofu sandwich ( get it on rice bread!) and an Edamame sandwich... and they usually havea vegan soup....oh aaand they have vegan cookies!!!! its at the domain next to starbucks | ||

Re: The Steeping room Posted by: Diogenes on 2008/07/22 11:41am They are getting even better now :-) they are starting to label all the vegan stuff and there is always a vegan soup now.. plus the offer soymilk and agave nectar.. unfortunately last time i was there i was told the rice bread was not vegan but the ciabatta and wheat bread were.. and it is labeled that way on their menu now as well.. They also have the most amazing chocolate cupcakes.. I think they were better than dhaba joys.. they didnt have that slight bitter dark chocolate taste that u find in lots of vegan chocolate.. and they are huge and super moist.. plus this place is now offering a happy hour deal from 5-7 with things like $1 edamame and discounted drinks etc etc.. reply -

*Last modified: 2008/09/21 6:38pmfigured i'd chime in since i am vegan and work here. we do indeed have a growing number of vegan options, including cookies, cupcakes, one scone (currant), all of our salads (and dressings) , a new bowl consisting of a rotating grain, bean, and green with tofu, and three of our sandwiches. some items require substitution but they are labeled as such on the menus. we always have at least one vegan soup and often times two. we were recognized in the austin chronicle this year for best "indoor" cupcakes, including our vegan double chocolate ones and we received a mention under best tofu dish (probably our ginger tofu sandwich, but possibly the napa rolls). we are also independent, locally owned, and all natural! reply -

There are so many tasty vegan options and The tofu napa rolls are to die for. The vegan chocolate cupcakes, let's get real, are better then Daba joy's. Though I still love Daba Joy. Go there for excellent tea, tea services, and good times. reply -
