What's new in Austin's vegan scene?

The list goes on and on lately of awesome new vegan businesses and vegan-friendly options around town. Here are a few of our favorites:

  • Capital City Bakery

Austin's one and only completely vegan bakery cart. They have some seriously amazing sweets.
  • Conscious Cravings

Now with two locations, serving tasty wraps like the Chimichurri Seitan with daiya, baked rosemary fries, and blackbean sliders.
  • Counter Culture

Austin's beloved vegan food cart now has a brick and mortar location on the east side where you can get E2-friendly dishes and others like the Philly Seitan.
  • Arlo's

Vegan bacon cheeseburger and Mexican style chik'n tacos. Out of this world.
  • Rabbit Food Grocery

Austin now has its own vegan grocery run by a couple of VRA'ers! Right now they're doing pop-up shops at local vegan spots a few times a week until they have a storefront.
  • The Vegan Nom

Jalisco vegan chik'n, spicy migas, amazing vegan goodness in the form of breakfast tacos.
  • Sweet Ritual

Treat yourself to some decadence with sundaes, homemade waffle cones, and myriad vegan toppings at this all-vegan ice cream bar.
  • Red Rabbit Cooperative Bakery

Cooperative-made vegan donuts like fritters, Austin creme, and maple-pecan.
  • Moses Falafel

In the same food court as Conscious Cravings and Cap City Bakery, excellent Israeli falafel.
  • The Vegan Yacht

Now at a new location on E. 12th serving items like Mock Chick'n Salad sandwiches and their new Seitanwich.
  • La Condesa

La Condesa on 2nd St. downtown now has a vegan cauliflower "steak" and an assortment of other fancy, tasty concoctions. Great for a date night, entrees in the $15-18 range.
  • Mr. Natural

Mr. Natural is now doing weekend vegan brunch (like Daiya-quiles) and themed sit-down dining at their South Lamar location!
