I was thinking October would be a great time to have a bakesale because
-It's not hot out
-Pumpkin Treats
-Students are about
-Halloween!
-Pumpkin!!!!

Maybe we could do a big one and make an event out of it.

What do you all think????

I make a mean Non Alcoholic ButterBeer (or insert non copywright infringing name here happy ).  It's perfect for keeping warm.  It's vegan, and could be either sold or made on site for bakesale coordinators.

Maybe this time we could donate to SARA animal sanctuary. They have over 850 animals (mostly unadoptable dogs but some cats and farm animals too)and they are about to have their power cut off.

I'm definitely excited about fall themed treats! And I like the idea of spreading the love to other nearby sanctuaries.

I can definitely bake some cookies or other deserts! And I'd be happy to help staff the event. Also, I have all of the supplies leftover from the last one! I'll get you a list of what's there when I get home later today.

I think the Counter Culture would be great. Do you think we could do it while Rabbit Food is there for a Sunday brunch?

BrittlePants - Please help staff!!

As soon as I figure out the date, I will make a new sign up sheet.

I was also trying to think of something else that would bring people out like bands or a raffle or pumpkin smashing or something. If you think of anything...

OK, I talked it over with Sue and the plan is to have it at Counter Culture Sunday Oct 21 from 2-5. Sugar Circus has agreed to make some baked goods too! Yay!

FYI - October 21st is the Texas State Veggie Fair in Dallas. I think a lot of people were planning on going to it.

Well the weekend before is ACL and I can't do the weekend after. Then the next weekend is Fun Fun Fun Fest.

How many folks do you think are going to go to Dallas? I can always have people drop off baked goods the day before and I can pick up stuff too.

I know Dan and I plan on spending the weekend up there. Most people I talked to thought they would be going too. I don't think there will be a mass exodus or anything, but a chunk of the community might be gone. It doesn't necessarily impede a successful bakesale, but it's something to keep in mind.

*BUMP*

Don't forget about the bake sale this Sunday! If you can't attend or bake ahead of time then you can always donate directly to SARA. I wrote a blog about both the bake sale and this recipe for a pumpkin poke cake that I found online and veganized. Check it out peeps - ohhh vegan peeps! Or maybe Ewww vegan peeps.
