Aww you're the best, Sue! That sounds like a great idea, I'll let you know for sure.

Just throwing this out there. There is an Austin vegan-friendly restaurant guide by VegAustin. The new guide is outdated (naturally), but it could serve as an interim guide that is no cost to obtain copies of: http://www.vegaustin.com/guide/

But it sounds like you all want to make a different guide with VRA branding.

Emphasis on "outdated."

Not to diss VegAustin, but due to the ever-changing nature of the scene, I would suggest that we not come up with a printed guide. It would need to be updated continuously and would therefore be a waste of paper. What I would suggest instead is posting a really good, comprehensive, *up-to-date* guide online (like the one Food Fight has for PDX) and then printing up cards with the link on there, and perhaps with a bar code that be scanned by smartphones. Having the page be in a wiki format sounds like a good idea.

This is more along the lines of what I'm thinking. I like Amelia's idea of a printed one-pager that we could re-print occasionally, while having an online resource serve as the primary, frequently changing destination.

Some of you may have noticed that the Vegetarian Network of Austin is also going to be at Counter Culture that same night. I discussed this with Ross yesterday, before I posted it on Facebook and the ATXvg/RHV calendar this morning, and we agreed that we thought it'd be OK for both groups to be there.

I also let Sue know about the doubling-up, but I don't think the VNA will have a huge turnout, so we shouldn't overwhelm her.

Also, the VNA isn't there to crash the VRA party; we aren't doing this as a joint meetup. I'll slide over and join the discussion on the VRA's future at some point, and maybe a couple other interested people will too, but I won't be doing anything in an official capacity. Just listening in and offering input.

Looking forward to it yall- and thanks Ross for awesome leadership.

Thank you guys so much for coming tonight excited You all rock! All the feedback is super appreciated, and I can't wait for us to make some progress on the items discussed. I'll make more of a post summarizing some of our new goals and such once I get all the notes combined.

Np Georgianne! I'll be listing the summation soon. A couple of the changes we're announcing is better engagement for new people(like more introductions, name tags, regular new folks meetups, etc.), sign ups for month-meetup-planners, and a good few other items. More shortly! And we'll always be looking for anybody to help out in a variety of ways, so you are always welcome happy
