Some dear friends reminded us why we love this place so much!

There's one on the drag and one on Oltorf. Clearly marked vegan items. We love their tofu bowls with rice. Their vegan tofu spring rolls come with a killer dipping sauce.Totally yummy!

It's right next to veggie heaven, and we've started to go to Hai Ky because hai ky tastes amazing, is super clean and around the same price range with bigger portions.

Their entrees are huge. We always share and leave stuffed.

Posting this in case anyone hasn't been!

They just opened a location at Spicewood Springs, just west of MoPac, too.

The location on the drag (not sure about the others) offers all entrees for $6.25 on Tuesdays. There's always enough for me to have leftovers the next day for lunch.

That looks about right. I haven't been yet, but it's right next to my dentist's office.

Clearly marked vegan items? Are you sure? I think I would have seen that on the menu given how often I eat there. They have a veggie page but most of the items aren't vegan. For example the hot pepper sauce stir fry (#72) has shrimp paste.

I haven't seen this on the menu. I've had multiple staff members there tell me that only the #73 and #76 dishes are vegan. Still, those two are delicious enough that I eat there way too often.

its been a while since i've been here, but i used to eat at Hai Ky fairly often when i lived on Oltorf about a year and a half ago. i tried several dishes but always seemed to get the 101, which i was told was vegan by a staff member and an acquaintance. i was later told by another staff member that it was not vegan because it had oyster sauce, and that a lot of their veggie options were not vegan. at that time the menu did not list anything as vegan, and i just checked online and it does not specify that for the Oltorf location. however, the Guadalupe menu is different and has the vegan options identified.

so i guess the question is whether the actual ingredients, sauces, etc vary by location or if the menu is just different. this was a really great place to eat and i would like to try it again. i wasnt aware that there were other locations until i came across this thread.

So this begs the question: So does the new Hai Ky restaurant on Spicewood Springs have a menu that labels vegan items?

No, they don't. I went there after reading this thread. They list the vegetarian items in green ink - but the majority have egg either in them, or in the noodle type.
I guess the menu is just drastically different at the Guadalupe location.

Watch out for fish sauce at the Spicewood location. I'll stick to the one on the drag.
