Time to dust off your craft projects and get together for another craft day/night!  Who's interested, and when are you free in the next couple weeks?  I'm ready anytime (gotta finish a blanket), but I can be patient til after SXSW if that's what the majority want.

::Bumpity Bump Bump Bump!::

So spring is crazy for me work-wise and personally, but I'd still like to squeeze in some stitching camaraderie. Anyone else up for it? Maybe a Sunday or a weekday?

Let's make it happen! ::High five!::

You can't go to sleep until you knit yourself a sleeping bag!

I am in, as long as you can be bad at crafts.

Under these rules, I wouldn't be able to go to sleep for at least six months! I do like the idea of a slumber party, though.

All crafty levels are welcome. If you can glue two pieces of paper together or are willing to learn, we'll call you crafty excited

Yay. Count me in!

I'm away this weekend and next, but should be free any other time.

*I like the idea of a crocheted sleeping bag. I have TONS of leftover yarn scraps. Maybe I really will do that!!

Sounds awesome!  My Tuesdays are crazy busy, but any other day of the week is fine (I'm self-employed, so my schedule is quite flexible).  One thing, though - my boyfriend and I have a contract to play at the Oklahoma Renaissance Faire, so I'll be up there every weekend in May (leaving here on Friday and coming back Monday) as well as being gone the first and third full weeks in May.  I've got some new garb I'll be working on for that, though, as well as some jewelry I've got to make for inventory, so I'll have plenty to do at the craft night if I can make it!

yay! sounds great! I can do it pretty much anytime, and a  slumber party sounds like a lot of fun!! My place is tiny though so that wouldn't work. Who would be willing to invite us all? =)

I wouldn't be able to host until next month (as I'll be out of town the next two weekends), but I'd be happy to.

I have a small house, but a big screened in porch and a huge yard. It might be kinda hot, but we could bring tents, spread out all over the yard, and have a camping/slumber party. I also have a few air mattress and some couches in the living room, so we could probably fit about 8 people in there if some are cool with sleeping on the floor.

We used to have potlucks a lot where we would project a movie outside in the backyard, so I could probably borrow one to do that again.

Anyway, just throwing that out there. To get an idea, some pics of my place can be found here:

Cristen, this sounds perfect. Thank you so much for offering to host! I won't be available until May either. What days do you think you'll be available to host?

Second weekend of May? If we do it on Friday, it'll be Friday the 13th. Would that work?

I can't make it on that Friday (I've got a big work fundraiser that night), but I could make it on Saturday. Either way, don't let me stop y'all. If Friday works for the rest of you, go for it.

OK. So some things came up that make me think my house might be too chaotic to host. Really sorry for offering and now saying I can't do it.

I just found out this weekend that my grandma in Pittsburgh sold her house. And since she's moving to Austin, I'll be moving up there for at least a month to help her sort through all her stuff so she can move down to Austin. I'm not exactly sure when I'll be leaving yet, but my trip up to Pittsburgh will likely just be tacked on to the beginning of a long trip I already planned for this summer. So regardless, these next few months are going to be kinda stressful.

I'd still love to attend the craft night/slumber party if I can, but just don't think I can host.
angry

On another note (and I will probably post this on a separate post once I know the exact dates)...but I will be away from Austin June - November.
If anyone is looking for a cheap sublease in the Hyde Park area for the summer (or even part of the summer), send me a message and I'll send you more details about the house.

No worries, Cristen, we can figure something else out. I'm sorry that these next few weeks are going to be kind of stressful for you. I'll send good thoughts your way happy

We can all cram in at my apartment if need be. Kate, do you think that you and Jackie might be up to host in mid-May? Not pressure if it's not possible.

yep, we can host.  We've got 2 couches and lots of floor space, so people will need sleeping pads of some sort.

I've got early morning commitments every Sunday morning, so I'd prefer a Friday night.  What about May 20?
