I don't know if this has been posted before, there are so many threads, and I'm sure there is new information all the time anyway, so I was wondering if anyone had any advice as to a good vegan caterer around Austin or surrounding areas. I'm looking for Vegan Wedding catering and possibly  vegan wedding cakes too, but they don't necessarily need to be from the same company. Any recommendations would be appreciated. I'm very new to the area and not really sure where to start. Thanks!

we had our wedding at the sheraton downtown and they did a great job keeping it vegan for us (using vegan butter and even ensuring the wine was vegan).  let me know if you want more info.

we looked into whole foods...we were going to have our wedding on the outdoor balcony, but because they had to rent everything, including silverware, napkins, etc. it was way overpriced.

happy wedding planning!

Our wedding was catered by Whole Foods. We didn't do a package deal and we used disposable plates, cups, and utensils (they said they recycled them). Using the disposable stuff made it cheaper. Anyhow, we found that to be the most affordable option at the time. Again, it wasn't a package deal where we used their facilities or anything - just like a regular old caterer. The service was excellent. They came to the church, served it buffet style, kept everything filled (even the drinks we supplied ourselves), cut the cake which we bought elsewhere, cleaned everything up, and left. Quiet and unobtrusive. Our cake was awesome, but our baker is in another profession now.

Becca on here has a vegan catering business called Green Island. It wasn't around when we got married. I would check that out.

Michaela,
My company is here www.greenislandcatering.com
Since May 2009 we have been catering all vegan weddings, parties and most recently luncheons for UT's history department. We have several more vegan weddings coming up this spring. We also do vegan wedding cakes although there are several wonderful vegan bakers in town that specialize just in the cakes. We work with all budgets and so far our buffets have all fallen in the range of $10-$25/person, some of those included the service, plates etc. It all depends, feel free to send me an email through the site and I can give you some more detailed info based on your size, menu preferences and budget, etc.
Thanks Carrie happy

Becca
