There's a new vegan food trailer called Edible Earth. It's in the lot across from El Mercado on south first (where the original Torchy's trailer was).

Sweet.  The fully vegan options around town have really picked up over the past year or so.

A photo of the menu is on Facebook, but for those who don't have it:

I'll be there for lunch tomorrow and add 'em to the Restaurant page afterwards if nobody has done so.

Man, between this place and the CC meetup it's gonna be vegan food trailer heaven tomorrow!

happy

I gave it 3 carrots for the small and expensive burrito I got, but maybe this is temporary and the other dishes are of better value.  I hate to bad-mouth a new fully vegan establishment right away, and they definitely deserve a chance.  I'll go there again at some point in the near future and report back, and others are of course welcome to do so as well.

On a related note, and kinda emphasizing what I said in an earlier post, it's pretty cool that we've gone from one fully vegan place to FIVE just within a year or so.  It's a nice change from it just being Casa.

Errol and I went today and we would give it about three stars too.  The menu looks great - exactly the kind of stuff I love but it didn't really deliver.

We got the breakfast burrito and chick-un salad sandwich.  I liked the sandwich better of the two - but it wasn't much food for $8 (small sandwich and some carrot sticks).  The all day breakfast burrito was okay - maybe some avocado would have helped.  And it was small.  Disappointing for $8.

I will give it another chance.  I imagine that it takes some time to get it right.  Maybe I just want a vegan place on the southside so badly I am willing to try again.

I had the same experience with the taco salad. angry Also the pieces of lettuce were bigger than my hand. Not so conducive to eating as a salad.
I know it's not all vegan, but I've had delicious food at Somnio's right down the street if you're looking for something on the southside. The sissy salad is perfection.

it seems the proprietor maybe just moved to austin so maybe she doesn't know how much to charge?  I agree the prices are 1 or 2 high on most things, but she's only been open less than a month and is experimenting with other things like pizza and cupcakes, so i do think we as a group should both let we know we support her, but also that we could support her more if her prices were a bit lower on some things like breakfast burritos and salad and such.

Hey there Lulabell,

We haven't been to your cart yet but we will.

Price & portions are deal breakers, usually.

It's the reason lots of vegans will bend and eat at a nonvegan establishment with a few cheap vegan options instead of going to an all vegan establishment.

The prices and portions have to convince us to go OUT for a burrito instead of just making our own at home happy

Can't wait to check it out, though.

That's great that you are on here.  Will definitely be there for earth day if not before.  I'll be coming back from mckinney roughs state park earth day celebration and hungry for awesomeness.  you might eventually want to tweak your hours to be open sometimes for a dinner crowd.
11-4 really only covers lunch/brunch.
