I will be up in Ft Worth on business this weekend. Are there any good vegan restaurants I should check out while I am up there?

Nope, never even heard of it. I have only lived in Texas about a year though and I don't know Ft Worth at all. Thanks for the tip, I will go check it out this weekend.

::Still expressing shock on you not hearing about Spiral::

Seriously, dude, this is the king of all veg places in the whole state. And it's in "Cowtown", no less.

I've heard good things about the Jamaican Jerk Sandwich, but I haven't tried it personally. Sunday brunch is good, I've heard - AYCE pancakes! I can personally recommend the Chocolate Mountain Mudslide dessert. Delish!

They also have a location in Dallas. Austin location is years away, if ever, unfortunately.

I remember seeing the name mentioned when I was looking for places here in Austin but really just overlooked everything else. I won't be able to do brunch this weekend, work starts at 7am so it will probably just be a Saturday night dinner thing.

"You haven't been to Spiral??"

and

"::Still expressing shock on you not hearing about Spiral::"

I know you guys are just joking around, but come on! Before you two became masters of all things vegan I think there was a time when you also had not yet heard of Spiral Diner. Or did you know about it from birth? Please correct me if I am wrong.

Hehe, thanks for the defense. It might been covered in the vegetarian starter kit I ordered a couple months ago from PETA but I still have not recieved it lol.

Jamaican Jerk Sammich sounds really good right now. I might have to give that a try.

he he.  I guess we have more in common with Christians than some of us would care to admit.

OMG, you haven't heard of Jesus?!? = OMG, you haven't heard of Spiral Diner?!?

then we preach about Its Awesomeness.

to answer your question, I think they use Vegan Gourmet at Spiral.

My favorite is the philly cheese steak and the amazing apple spice milkshake.  The parmesan wrap is also really good.  and if you can ever make it for the sunday brunch, the biscuits and gravy are phenomenal (make sure to add sausage to it).

Church of the Spiral.  finally, a religion we can all agree on!  where the stained glass windows are done by Alex Grey and Tool is on loop play.

Amy McNutt is the NEW god.  last one to convert eats meat.

I was actually able to talk 4 of my coworkers into going to Spiral Diner for lunch and they all really liked it, my boss even picked up the check. A couple of them thought there would only be tofu on the menu but they still decided to check it out and they were all glad they did.

I just got back from dinner there, unfortunately I couldn't talk them into two meals in one day there so I had to eat by myself but the great food is worth any awkward lonely eating situation excited

Thanks for the tips everyone!

For lunch I had the Jamaican Jerk Sammich with an agave lemonade. For dinner I went with the patty melt, jazz tea and a hot cookie sunday for desert. It was all realllllly good. I will be working up there atleast once a month and I plan on going every time I visit.

I was really impressed with all the coworkers that wanted to give the place a try. We have one guy there that gave everyone a hard time about going talking about how disgusting vegan food is and everything. Yesterday for breakfast I came in with a really nice fresh fruit platter, grapes, strawberries and apples. He was like "That looks really good" I told him "Oh you wouldn't like any of this, its nasty vegan food" lol.

he he.  I take sick pleasure in doing that kind of shit as well. I seem to constantly get the "wtf are you EATING?!?" everywhere I work.

I usually tell them their lunch used to take shits... and go on about my merry day.
