We finally used the drive-through the other night and it was pretty good. I admit I was a tiny bit disappointed by the food and service (they didn't catch the "vegan" part of our order even though nate was really clear when ordering that *everything should be vegan*; luckily he double-checked at the pay window and it all worked out).

I had really high expectations and was probably a little too excited by having this new drive-through veg option, which is still especially cool for us since we're new parents and can't eat-in at restaurants as easily anymore. I agree with Ross that the fries were really greasy and very limp by the time we got 'em home, and I see what everyone else means about the burger itself. I thought the vegan mint vanilla shake was pretty good. Overall, I felt pretty full and satisfied, but not excited about what I just ate. But we'll be back! Especially because Nate loved it. happy

I had problems at the drive-thru as well.  My husband ordered a vegan burger for me and I took a bite without really noticing (I have a 6 year old: I was distracted) and it was the regular bun with mayonnaise on it.  BLECH!!!

So...yeah: I would be careful (and not too trusting of the "vegan" stickers they use: that was my mistake).  They offered to replace my sandwich but I had already lost my appetite.

So they use a different bun on the vegan burger?!  I went there once and mine said "veggie" instead of "vegan", but I figured it was vegan since I ordered mine without mayonnaise.  How can you tell if the bun is vegan?

Also, I've never been through a drive-thru as a vegan, but I remember when I was a kid and we would order through drive-thrus, the orders would always get messed up.  So, I'm not really surprised that orders are getting messed up there.  I don't think we, as vegans, are used to drive-thrus or fast-food.  It'd be nice if the drive-thru was all-vegan, so if we did get orders messed up, we'd know it was at least vegan.  I'm still waiting on the all-vegan-fast-food restaurant with drive-thru ;-)

At both Terraburgers, they put vegan stickers on the burgers. They claimed that they put Veganaise on the vegan ones, which seemed true to me.

By the way, there is a vegan fast food place in Pasadena (http://www.oreanshealthexpress.com/menu.asp). I went there about 7 or 8 years ago and I thought everything was vegan. Their website just says that it's vegetarian; that might be to not scare off people though.

Yeah.  Their regular buns have sesame seeds on them and are not vegan.  I was told the wheat buns are vegan (and don't have sesame seeds on them).  You can get vegenaise on your burger instead of mayo.

And yeah, you're absolutely right about mess-ups happening at the drive-thru (and I am out of practice with having to deal with drive-thrus).  I was just honestly distracted and saw the vegan sticker on the packaging and didn't notice until I took a bite.  An all-vegan drive-thru would be awesome!  ^_^

You should say you want a vegan veggie burger and then they automatically give you the wheat bun, use veganaise and give you the vegan sticker.
