Okay - we have all seen the discussion about "August Evening".
I ran in to Chris yesterday - and he said that the opening weekend is really the most important time for ticket sales, b/c that is when the theater will decide whether or not to keep the film for another few weeks
-- SO -
I propose we all try to get out to the Arbor on Saturday night and have a big-ass vegan screening!
The movie is really beautiful - and I'm excited to see it again on the big screen.
Who's in?

Thanks y'all!
It's at the Regal Arbor Theater starting Friday, Oct 10, which is officially declared "August Evening Day" by the City of Austin.
For Tickets: http://www.fandango.com/TheaterPage.aspx?tid=AAEUJ
Definitely get tickets online because there are a couple of showtimes that community groups are trying to buy out ahead of time.
I will be there Fri/Sat nights for Q&A.
Hope to see you all there!

great!
fyi: a sponsor has pre-bought 100 tickets to the 6:30p saturday showtime.  it might not sell out, but if everyone's planning to go to that same showtime it would be safest to get tickets now.
ticket stubs get 1/2 price appetizers at Manuel's right next to the theater.  my publicist worked out the deal and supposedly there are a couple potential vegan items: guacamole, sauteed mushrooms, potato corn masa cakes maybe, and of course chips/salsa.  but it's probably best for drinks.  i think the sponsor is taking his people over there after the screening.
if you don't want to eat afterward, i would suggest a very early dinner at Dimassi's, which is only a few minutes from the theater and an old favorite of mine from my Houston days.  it's a buffett with a huge vat of tahini... need i say more?

i've been told that the potato pancakes, guac, and i think black beans and rice (can't recall the last two exactly) are vegan when i've gone there in the past.

I'd like to support the film, and will buy a ticket even if I don't make it to the showing.
I'm really loking forward to seeing the film.

oooooops! I just remembered that I'll be out of town this Saturday! I'll not be able to make it - but I hope the support you are getting here will keep it around long enough for me to see it again soon.

monkeyboy:  awesome!
jeff:  i knew the back-and-forth-forever would touch you deep inside.
matt:  if you're around and free, jeff's going on friday at 9:20 (i think) and was trying to get a 2nd group to go then.

thanks for all the support everyone!
