I'm down for it! Modify the route as yall see fit, but I'm cool with whatever yall decide to do. We can also have a party at my place (near 45th and Guadalupe in Hyde Park) if you guys like parties! I'll also use photoshop to make a good lookin flier..

That is a very thorough route.  I'm so excited!

Does anyone else live South and want to ride downtown to the ped bridge and back with me?

I'm interested in this, but how much is off road?  I know that the hike & bike portion isn't suitable for my bikes, but is much else?  Just curious since everyone might not be on mountain bikes...

I'm not going to be riding my mountain bike.  I take my road bicycle on the hike and bike trail all the time.  But if you want, they have that new sidewalk on the other side of cesar chaves that goes all the way to the johnson creek trail I think.

Well you can make a better route if you want.  I think it should start at the pedestrian bridge though since that's one of the most central points in Austin.  Also, stopping by DhabaJoy is pretty important....

Well, I would make a south central route instead of north central, but there's no vegan bakery in south central ..... yet
BTW, the first route I made completely avoided my neighborhood, just so you know.

Oh nooooo!
I knew October 18th sounded familiar!  I just realized I have to drive to Oklahoma for a wedding that weekend.
I am so upset!  I need to ride bikes with people asap!

I don't know what your schedule is like or how deviant you are, but Critical Mass is this Friday at 5 at West Mall on UT.  As long as I can sneak away from work, I'm planning to ride.  If anyone else wants to come down, lemme know.

P.S.~ The Onion told me there is a free bicycle fest on the East Side Oct. 18th as well. ( http://www.tour-de-fat.com/ )  I'll probably go since it's right across the river.

I would check out Critical Mass, but I'm going to ACL Friday.
How is the ride here?  Are people out more to enjoy it and raise awareness, or just to cause a raucous and piss people off?

i'll see you at critical mass.

the big ride might be too long for me since i'm outta shape (team organic athlete!) so worst case i'll go halfway and then breakaway from the group. then go home and watch Quicksilver starring the baconator.

I wish we could do it this very minute, but should we postpone it two weekends, then?  That makes two of us out of town on the 18th!  I want to go!
