Anyone have any details about protesting the circus this week?  Is the big demo still on Saturday morning like previous years?  I can't find a website for Action for Animals but I assume they are still around?

BTW - I am new to this site and I am loving it!

Welcome to the site! Glad you're liking it here. Here's info from Students Against Cruelty to Animals'(SACA) website:

Leafleting and Demonstration
The Ringling Brothers Circus will be in Austin August 17-23. Please help us join Action For Animals in passing out information in front of The Erwin Center regarding the mistreatment of animals used for entertainment on these dates:

Wednesday: leafleting from 6:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.
Thursday: leafleting from 6:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.
Friday: leafleting from 6:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.
Saturday: demonstration from 10 a.m.-11:30 a.m.
Saturday: leafleting from 2:30 - 3:30 p.m.
Saturday: leafleting from 6:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m.
Sunday: leafleting from 12:30 p.m. 1:30 p.m.
Sunday: walk with animals back to train station at approximately 3:30 p.m.-4:30 p.m.

We will leaflet and hold our demo at the Erwin Center along Red River Street. Please look for us at the south crosswalk near 17th Street. If you show up to leaflet, please do not bring any signs or banners or wear any animal rights t-shirts. We have 4000-5000 leaflets that we want to put in peoples' hands as they go in to watch the circus. If we have signs they will not take any leaflets. You may, however, bring signs and dress as you please during the demo on Saturday.

Please bring water, wear a hat and sunscreen, and dress comfortably. You may park in the state parking lot one block west of Red River between 17th Street and MLK Blvd. For more information in cruelty to animals in circuses visit
