1 c uncooked long-grain rice
3 c broth
1 bay leaf
4 green onions, finely chopped
1 tB olive oil
1 tB soy sauce
1 c vital wheat gluten flour
1 ts smoked paprika
1 ts dried oregano
1/2 ts garlic powder
1/8 ts cayenne
1/2 ts black pepper
1/2 ts salt


Make your rice with 2 cups broth & bay leaf.
Discard leaf & let rice cool.
Fold rice, green onions, oil, soy sauce & remaining broth together in a bowl.
Start boiling water for steaming.
Combine & whisk dry ingredients in a separate bowl.
Sprinkle dry ingredients into rice bowl & toss until rice is evenly coated with gluten.
Gently fold the rice with your hands until the gluten begins to develop slightly.
Pull apart larger pieces of gluten if they form.
Form 1/2 c scoops into links, roll up in foil & twist the ends.
Steam for 30 min.
Yields 8 links.
