Amazing Brazilian Black Beans in Orange posted by lasberry

1 small bag of Black Beans or 2-3 cans of black beans
1 can of frozen orange juice
3 dehydrated chipotle peppers, rehydrated and blended in blender
sea salt
cumin powder
italian seasoning
3 cloves of garlic, minced
1/4 of a bunch of cilantro, chopped thin.
1 onion, chopped
1 bunch of green onions, chopped
Optional but great: 1/2 small jar of  Mole, read label for the one w/o chicken broth (Mexican food section; for cross-cultural breeding)

1. If from can, forget this part. If from scratch, wash and soak black beans overnight. Throw water, rinse, and boil without salt for 1.5 hrs.
2. Saute chopped onion. Add can of orange juice, blended chipotle peppers, salt, cumin, italian seasoning and beans covered with 2 inches of water. Add Mole if you chose to try it w/that. Boil until beans are very tender and water is thick or if from can, until the water has thickened to taste.
3. Turn off. Add garlic and cilantro, stir. Serve garnished with the chopped green onions. This is an amazing sweet, sour, tangy and spicy soup that will make you feel you are in the Brazilian beaches taking a stroll with Garota or Garoto Da Ipanema.
