Makes about 1 1/3 cups and takes only 15 minutes!  My mom taught me how to whip this up.  It is best made with standard sweet Basil.  I swear by the food processor method for preparing it, as opposed to the time honored mortar and pestle (the word pesto refers to the tool). Add a dollop on corn, potatoes, pasta, green beans, rice, you name it -

3 large garlic cloves
1/2 cup pine nuts
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp fresh ground black pepper
3 cupr loosely packed fresh basil leaves
2/3 cup olive oil


With the food processor running, drop in garlic. stop motor and add nuts, salt, pepper, and basil, then process until finely chopped.  With motor running, add oil, blending until incorporated but not completly smooth.
